LondonI’ve just come back (yesterday) from a truly uplifting and life affirming event in London which was the “Sing for Water” event with 800 other singers from all over the UK singing together on the banks of the Thames. http://www.wateraid.org/uk/get-involved/events/events/sing-for-water?gclid=CPTzisu048ACFRHHtAoduDgAig#/about-sing-for-water

It seems a great time to begin this singing blog!

25 of the Cardiff Canton Singers (+ a few guests from other groups) worked hard through the summer to learn songs which we performed yesterday as part of the “Totally Thames” festival in London. We have been participating in this event for the past 5 years and it has become a real passion of ours. We do our own Cardiff based activities to raise funds for the charity Wateraid. We have our own “Just Giving” page set up by choir member Rebecca … http://www.justgiving.com/Cardiff-Canton-Singers-SfW-2014 – I think we have raised around £1800 throughout the year including a big concert of all my groups plus busking as well as individual donations.
So proud of the singers and their individual “Marasong” set which was even closer to Tower Bridge and the Thames and sounded very lovely!

Here are some of the photos of the event – which are on facebook. I think you can view them even without an account (thanks Julia for sending)

30 days, 42 miles, 170 events, 1 river…

Thank you all for singing your hearts out, and for bringing joy to so many communities in Ghana!

Also here is a link to a video of one of the songs all the South Wales choirs who work with me performed together for our own concert to raise funds for Wateraid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnPSOvelThM
