Great concert and lovely to see Sarah’s choir “Cascapella” performing with great gusto as well as sensitivity! Fun too singing for the first time with the “Variagated women!”

Here is a thank you including some extra insight into the work they do – sent via SArah and Frankie – from Sabine who works for the organisation…..Links to the organisations at the bottom…..
Dear Sarah and Frankie
I am writing on behalf of all the clients and staff at Freedom from Torture to express our most heartfelt gratitude for organising the wonderful and immensely successful benefit concert in Newport on 17th October. We are extremely grateful for all the hard work you put into organising the evening, which resulted in such a fantastic amount being raised for our work with survivors of torture.
The following words from a torture survivor from Iraq, demonstrate the importance of our services to our clients:

‘I never told anyone what happened to me before I came to Freedom from Torture. Before, there was a thin line between life and death, I had no interest in life – I was fearful of everything and I had total disconnection. But this is where I reclaimed my mind, where I began to have hope. Life began when I came here. My journey has been a hard one but I will not give up.’

Unfortunately it is still the sad truth today that individuals from dozens of different countries are as much in need of our services as ever. We are therefore extremely grateful for your support of our work. Our clients have been through extremely traumatic experiences compounded by exile. However, your help enables us to provide them with a range of multidisciplinary therapies and the practical support they need to deal with alienating systems around asylum and housing in the UK.

Thank you so much!!!

With kind regards
Sabine
