Thursday 24th – Singing in my street with my neighbours! I’ve done this for the past few years now and I love it and neighbours have said that they do too so was really hoping for a bit of clear weather.

Just before 7 pm – the time we were due to be in the street there was a massive downpour of hail…which lasted a good few minutes so I thought the whole thing would not go ahead – and I think a lot of neighbours must have returned to their homes for shelter! There was so much hail on the ground that we started singing “White Christmas” from the doorway.

Anyway there just happened to be some “die hard” carolers standing outside and waiting for the singing despite the weather – so we just went along and sang anyway – the weather did clear – sort of – and we had a good crowd of people of all ages and generations joining in for the songs. Amazingly just as we ended our last song – the heavens opened again – so we had had just enough of a gap in the really bad weather to make a lovely go of the singing. Thanks all for being persistent with your brolleys and voices!
