I have to say that I was a little exhausted as I arrived at the Croft pub for this event – I’d hoped to pop home for a change of clothes and cuppa before leaving again for Cardiff – but realized that I didn’t have time. Anyway – what a fun loving atmosphere I walked into! Everyone was relaxed – (possibly a little to do with having had a couple of bevvis??). Anyway it was so lovely that the mood really picked me up!. When the choir were ready we had our warm up in the room next to the party – very funny as there was extra excitement in the air and extra exuberance in the singing too! I loved it!
I’d warned the choir that maybe 3 – 4 songs would be enough but we’d rehearsed 7 – 8. I could not believe the reaction from the fellow workers at the party as they applauded and cheered for more and more…We sang Gaudeamus; Dona Nobis; Ding Dong Merrily; Only You; Sloop John B; So Strong and Kaki Lambe! (+ 1 more which I can’t remember).
